For instance, if you take up a job as a mechanic in a nearby garage, and you study mechanical engineering in a college, you will be able to understand the concepts better. You will therefore be more motivated to work hard, in order to learn more.

Having said that, it is undeniable that working while studying is risky. If the job does not match with the course or you are spending more time on it, it might rather take a toll of your studies, which is not the best choice to make.  Moreover, it is quite difficult to balance both, especially if you are living alone with no emotional support.

To sum up, although, there is no doubt that some risks are associated with juggling between job and studies, I believe that the advantages outweigh the drawbacks, particularly with regard to taking up responsibility and learning. However, it should be said that not everyone is a risk-taker, and one must not do it just because everyone is doing.
