People living in the 21st century have a better quality of life than the previous centuries - mẫu 1
Opinions are divided on whether the standard of living has become higher compared to the previous centuries. Despite the higher living costs, I agree that life is now better for people in most parts of the world as they receive better healthcare and education.
The last century is a period of progress regarding improvements in people's health. A century ago, many illnesses such as smallpox, malaria or money pox were deemed life-threatening. This is mostly because of the poor prevention of diseases, the limitations in medical research and treatment at that time. However, this is not the case for most people today, as new vaccines, antibiotics and other effective cures have been developed, which shields humans from many viruses and have greatly enhanced our immune system. Although the cost for these can add up and be higher than in the past, the truth is that the lives of billions of people have been saved.
The general population in this century also reap benefits from a finer education. There are more schools and universities now than a hundred years ago, including online-based ones, meaning that more children can now gain access to education with fewer financial and geographical constraints. The increasing education standards are also what makes life better in the 21st century. as innovative pedagogical methods used in both teaching and learning are being constantly tested and applied. This facilitates the knowledge and skills students possess and results in a more skilled and adaptable workforce that serves as a basis for a nation's economic prosperity. A stronger and more sustainable economy is, finally, one of the key indicators of a superior quality of life compared to the past.
In conclusion, people's wellbeing today has improved significantly due to medical advances in the last century regardless of being more costly. People around the world are also being provided with better education, which yields long-term economic benefits.
People living in the 21st century have a better quality of life than the previous centuries - mẫu 2
It is sometimes asserted that modern citizens are experiencing elevated living standards compared with those in the past. I largely agree with this assertion considering the improvements in general economic and physical well-being even though mental health remains a concern in today’s society.
The foremost rationale for why I believe the quality of life has been improved lies in people’s enhanced physical health. This can be attributed to an increasing number of medical treatments capable of effectively curing many of the existing health problems which were not curable centuries ago. More importantly, recent research in nutrition and disease prevention has empowered people to proactively design their diets and daily regimen of exercise to ensure a healthier lifestyle.
Another aspect that I consider contributes to an increased quality of life in this century is the increased financial stability. This can be seen in the case of most Vietnamese people who have seen their income increased. Since the 2000s, the proportion of those who have middle to high income has grown remarkably as a result of economic reforms and technical advancements in this country. A growing number of people now are able to afford not only modern home appliances but also luxuries such as spa treatments or overseas travel to enrich their life experiences.
Nevertheless, I concede that a certain number of individuals might be suffering from a heightened level of stress which undermines their quality of life. Recent reports have highlighted the escalating trend of pressure in some countries, notably Japan. Many Japanese have to contend with the soaring cost of living, fierce competitiveness in the job market and other social pressure, which has reportedly led to depression and mental breakdowns being on the rise.
In conclusion, I mostly align with the observation that the overall quality of life has been enhanced in the current century due to the augmentation of people’s physical health and income despite the documented decrease in their mental well-being. That is why governments should invest more in initiatives that fundamentally address mental health problems to leverage their citizens’ level of happiness.
People living in the 21st century have a better quality of life than the previous centuries - mẫu 3
It is undeniable that people living in the 21st century enjoy a markedly superior quality of life compared to their counterparts in previous centuries. From advancements in healthcare and technology to expanded personal freedoms and economic opportunities, the modern era has ushered in an unprecedented era of human progress and well-being.
One of the most significant factors contributing to the enhanced quality of life in the 21st century is the dramatic improvements in healthcare and life expectancy. Thanks to groundbreaking medical discoveries, widespread access to vaccines, and better sanitation, people today are far less vulnerable to debilitating and often fatal diseases that were commonplace in earlier eras. The average lifespan has increased over the decades in many parts of the world, allowing individuals to live fuller, more productive lives. Additionally, modern medicine has greatly reduced the suffering caused by chronic conditions, physical disabilities, and injuries that would have been a death sentence just a century ago. A prime example of this is that rabies, which used to be considered fatal in the past, can now be cured at an early stage.
Moreover, the modern era has also seen a remarkable expansion of economic opportunities and material comforts. The middle class has grown substantially, providing more people access to education, technology, consumer goods, and leisure activities that were the exclusive domain of the elite in centuries past. This has empowered individuals to enjoy a higher standard of living and cultivate richer, more fulfilling lives. Furthermore, women today have greater access to higher education than ever before, opening up a world of opportunities for them to chart their own course in life. Whether they choose to pursue a fulfilling career or dedicate themselves to the important role of nurturing a family, modern women enjoy the freedom to make that decision for themselves
In conclusion, considering the undeniable progress in healthcare, women freedom and economic prosperity, the overall quality of life in the present far surpasses that of previous eras.
People living in the 21st century have a better quality of life than the previous centuries - mẫu 4
There are those who hold the opinion that individuals in the 21st century enjoy a superior quality of life compared to those living in earlier centuries. I am in complete agreement with this view, as I believe the unparalleled advancements in technology and social welfare have significantly elevated our way of living.
The first reason for this enhanced quality of life is the unprecedented progress in healthcare. Modern medical innovations have not only increased life expectancy but also improved the quality of life through effective treatments and preventive care. For example, advancements in medical imaging and minimally invasive surgery have made complex procedures safer and more accessible, drastically reducing recovery times and improving outcomes. These medical breakthroughs, unavailable in previous centuries, have provided us with a level of health and well-being that was previously unimaginable.
Moreover, the digital revolution has fundamentally transformed our daily lives, marking a significant improvement over the past centuries. The internet and smartphones have democratized access to information, connecting people across the globe and empowering them with knowledge and resources. This has led to an informed and engaged society of people, capable of making better decisions for their personal and professional lives. The convenience and efficiency brought about by these technological tools, such as online banking, e-commerce, and telecommuting, have significantly improved our standard of living, making everyday tasks more manageable and less time-consuming.
To conclude, the 21st century offers a superior quality of life, primarily thanks to groundbreaking advancements in healthcare and the transformative impact of digital technology. These developments have not only prolonged our life spans but have also enriched our daily experiences, making modern life more convenient, connected, and comfortable than ever before.
People living in the 21st century have a better quality of life than the previous centuries - mẫu 5
Some people hold the belief that people in present-day society experience enhanced living standards in comparison with those in earlier times. In this essay, however, I will challenge this school of thought.
Granted, modern people are superior to those in the past in terms of financial status. What used to be scarce such as education has become increasingly prevalent, which leads to a myriad of employment prospects and thereby higher incomes as opposed to those living in the past mostly sticking to manual jobs. Nonetheless, such growth in the job market is not permanent given recent financial downturns, particularly the economic recession of 2008. For instance, the IT industry, which used to provide numerous career prospects for people with handsome salaries, now faces a mass layoff due to market volatility, posing a threat to the stability of many people’s lives.
Another argument in favor of modern life is that people nowadays enjoy greater comforts with the development of numerous amenities and facilities for commercial and recreational purposes. The expansion of such facilities, nevertheless, comes at the expense of nature and ultimately human wellness. This can be illustrated by how thriving tourism alters and more worryingly, destroys natural landscapes. In Vietnam, green forests and vast areas along the coast have been cleared so as to build luxury resorts and retreats catering to tourists. These activities are the main culprits in the crisis of climate change, taking a toll on humans themselves
From my perspective, in the modern era, ones would be inferior to those living in previous times regarding the mental sphere. This is because modern people are inclined to dedicate their lives to work, which deprives them of quality time with their loved ones including families and friends, and other essential values in life such as their peace of mind. This devotion is widely regarded as the primary factor of the majority of burnout cases in modern society while people in the past tended to have greater work-life balance. The hectic life coupled with the proliferation of social media tends to place significant pressure on individuals and render modern life more complicated. Indeed, in the past, people mostly cared about how to sustain a living or how to protect their families. Meanwhile, people in the 21st century have to work excessively yet still fall victim to negative peer pressure or low self-esteem as they are exposed to an “amazing” life that other people try to depict on social media.
In conclusion, I disagree with the notion that today’s people have a better quality of life compared to those living in previous decades as people of different times have distinctive challenges that might not be shared by others.
People living in the 21st century have a better quality of life than the previous centuries - mẫu 6
It is an undeniable fact that the world has been advancing rapidly since the beginning of this century. While some argue that the former times were better, others insist that people enjoy a rather convenient lifestyle today. In my opinion, I believe that due to the evolution of technology, there has been a strong enhancement in the well-being of humans.
Firstly, having access to comprehensive healthcare systems has significantly played a key role in boosting the lifespan of humans. The revolutionary developments in the medical sciences have drastically improved health assistance in the current society. For instance, there have been several epidemics throughout history and the fatality rate for diseases such as cholera, plague, measles, and polio have been quite high. In contrast, due to the advancements in medical sciences, these diseases have been nearly eradicated from the planet. While new diseases such as COVID-19 or Monkeypox emerge occasionally, we are better prepared to tackle them efficiently with suitable scientific cures.
Secondly, the tools, gadgets and engineering available in the present is pushing the boundaries of technological breakthroughs. High-speed transportation, gadgets, devices and machines collectively contribute to the quality and convenience of life. For example, decades ago travelling from Japan to Africa would have been a challenging, weeks-long travel, in comparison to a comfortable flight which covers the same distance in just a few hours. Apart from devices and travel, the invention of the internet has truly changed the world in terms of information sharing, connectivity, communication and data access. Such scientific evolvement has resulted in unimaginable and heightened lifestyle benefits.
To conclude, it is undoubtedly true that the present-day standard of living is substantially better than the olden days. In my opinion, the progression in healthcare, engineering and communication has surpassed the previous days and has enhanced the overall life quality in the 21st century.
People living in the 21st century have a better quality of life than the previous centuries - mẫu 7
Nowadays, people’s quality of life has tremendously improved compared to the previous centuries. The essential factors for this change are advancements in technology, improved infrastructure and various initiatives taken by the government to bring up citizens’ living standards. In my opinion, I strongly agree with this statement.
Admittedly, the upgraded infrastructure helps people lead a quality living. Better transportation facilities, which were enhanced through technological advancements, have reduced travelling time to a great extent and improved the connectivity between various destinations. Such conveniences were not benefited by the people who lived some decades ago. For example, in the past, people spent months on sea voyages to commute to another country, but now it takes only a few hours to reach any corner of the world thanks to the high frequency of air flights. In addition, the condition of the food is being constantly monitored by the government in order to cater better quality food to every citizen. Still, some argue that the food consumed by our ancestors was more nutritious than now.
Furthermore, the development in medical services aided people to live longer, and various threatening diseases can be easily identified and cured as a consequence of advanced technological methods and innovative devices. For instance, the fatality rate of infectious viral infections such as measles and polio was significantly higher in the previous century, however, nowadays, these are entirely eradicated from the planet. While newer diseases continue to emerge from time to time, modern medicine can cure many of them, improving humankind’s quality of life.
In conclusion, humans in the modern era are experiencing a superior aspect of life to the ones who lived in previous centuries. Undoubtedly, as technology grows, there have been constant developments in every field to make living more manageable and more pleasant for everyone.
People living in the 21st century have a better quality of life than the previous centuries - mẫu 8
Undoubtedly, the living standard of people changed with the advancement of technology. Although it has some grave repercussions for health; however, in the high-tech era, the community has improved the quality of life than in the ancient world. I agree with this notion, and I will elucidate my views in the forthcoming paragraphs.
To commence with, there are enormous amenities for the masses in the modern world, but the predominant ones are the Internet and education. To elaborate, institutions and businesses are using computers to get daily experience, making work very manageable. Furthermore, society is also informed due to smartphones because the Internet is available. Apart from it, the education sector has improved since students are used to it and do not need to wait for teachers if they confront difficulties. They access knowledge from Google and other apps. For instance, yale university observed that 70% of learners are ahead of primitive time. Hence, it might lead to more independent lifestyles and education in the world.
To strengthen the further views, in the past, people lacked knowledge regarding the Internet, and growth was stagnant. To eclipse it, ancient mortals wrote letters to relatives. They waited a long time for an answer which affected communications as much as possible as there were fewer opportunities to achieve their ambitions at the proper time. To cite an example, research done by Kenyatta university shows that 20% of people in 1000 are not able to use phones and the Internet. Therefore, at that time, limited facilities to get awareness. In addition, a few traditions are still helpful now, which cannot be neglected by technology.
To conclude, although technology is fast growing which leads to a better life and facilitates, people have no option due to the fast pace of life but to agree and learn about it very fast.
People living in the 21st century have a better quality of life than the previous centuries - mẫu 9
The assertion that the quality of life in the 21st century surpasses that of previous centuries is widely discussed. This essay will analyze both the advancements that contribute to a higher quality of life today and the challenges that might argue against this view.
Advocates of the modern era's superior quality of life point to technological innovations and medical advancements as pivotal factors. In Vietnam, access to modern healthcare and technology has dramatically increased life expectancy and reduced infant mortality rates. A typical example can be observed in the widespread use of telemedicine, which allows rural populations to consult with specialists in urban centers, thereby receiving expert care that was previously inaccessible. If these technologies were not developed, many living in remote areas would suffer from lack of proper medical care. However, this reliance on technology also leads to lifestyle diseases linked to sedentary behavior, suggesting that these advancements are not without their drawbacks.
However, I believe that while technological and medical advancements have undeniably enhanced certain aspects of life, they do not universally translate to a better quality of life for all. The rapid pace of modern life, coupled with the stress of economic and social pressures, can detract significantly from mental and emotional well-being. In Vietnam, the rise in reported cases of anxiety and depression, especially among young professionals, highlights a critical downside of 21st-century lifestyles. This contrasts sharply with past centuries, where although life was harder in material terms, social bonds and community support were stronger and life rhythms were arguably more in harmony with human needs.
In conclusion, while the 21st century has seen remarkable advancements that enhance physical well-being and provide conveniences previously unimaginable, it also presents new challenges that can impede overall quality of life. Thus, it is essential to strike a balance that allows us to benefit from modern innovations while mitigating their less desirable impacts on our lives.
People living in the 21st century have a better quality of life than the previous centuries - mẫu 10
There is a prevailing notion that contemporary global citizens are enjoying greater living standards than their forebears. Personally, I totally concur with this statement and will offer my opinion in the following essay.
On the one hand, there are several rationales behind a common belief that the modern quality of life has either remained the same or, to some extent, diminished. Firstly, the rapid industrialization and technological progress of the 21st century have given rise to many environmental challenges such as pollution and climate change. The adverse impacts of these on public health are evident in increasing cases of chronic respiratory diseases or extreme weather events like storms and floods. Secondly, the fast-paced and demanding nature of modern life has seemingly made mental health problems more common than ever. Issues like anxiety and depression are becoming alarmingly prevalent, especially among youth, suggesting that the heightened quality of life may not be universally experienced.
On the other hand, I contend that the general population has reaped numerous benefits in terms of improved healthcare and education, leading to an overall enhanced quality of life. Regarding healthcare, previously terminal illnesses, such as tuberculosis or plague, are no longer significant threats to society thanks to extensive research and breakthroughs in medicine. This has largely contributed to longer life expectancy and enhanced overall well-being among the public. Turning to education, the advent of the Internet and other technological advancements has facilitated and diversified the learning experiences of many individuals. This means that apart from formal education at school, learners can access abundant online resources with minimal financial and geographical constraints, which helps further promote their personal development and intellectual growth.
In summary, despite the environmental concerns and mental health issues associated with modern life, it is my firm conviction that significant improvements in medical care and education have contributed to a generally higher standard of living in the 21st century.
People living in the 21st century have a better quality of life than the previous centuries - mẫu 11
Many believe that modern society offers individuals an improved standard of living than in past centuries. I mostly agree with this opinion as people have witnessed unprecedented advancements in the realms of medicine and education; however, I acknowledge that there remains a concurrent rise in stress levels.
One valid argument for my agreement is the tremendous progress in medical science. Many breakthroughs in healthcare research have enhanced treatment modalities and increased the probability of correct diagnoses, while the invention of vaccinations and other treatments have made previously incurable diseases manageable or preventable. For example, safe techniques for kidney or heart transplantation have helped patients to prolong their lives.
To add further credence to my belief is the educational sector has also undergone remarkable improvements. Governments from around the world strive to provide universal education for their citizens alongside the advent of online platforms that enable learners to access unlimited learning resources. As citizens become more intellectually educated, they will have more chances to seek a decent job which can contribute to increased living quality.
Nonetheless, I concede that people living in today's world also face many forms of stressors. The fast-paced nature of modern life, coupled with heightened societal expectations and family pressures can negatively affect their mental well-being. For instance, stressful economic elements necessitate longer working hours or multiple occupations to cover their expensive living costs, leaving adults less time to relax or spend with loved ones. This results in an increase in cases of mental illness or even suicide in some extreme circumstances.
In conclusion, while I largely contend that the 21st century has allowed people to enjoy improved healthcare and educational opportunities, contributing significantly to the enhancement of quality of life for many, I admit that the rapid societal shift has rendered them a more stressful existence. Where possible, people should balance between caring about their mental health and fulfilling their personal goals to lead a healthier life.
People living in the 21st century have a better quality of life than the previous centuries - mẫu 12
It is an undeniable fact that the world has been advancing rapidly since the beginning of this century. Therefore, many people opine that today our living standards are much better than those of our ancestors. This essay concurs with this statement as it has manifold reasons to substantiate it.
To embark on, people were more susceptible to different kinds of diseases in those days and casualties were high. The revolutionary development of medical science contributed to averting such threats to a great extent. For example, the fatality rate of infectious viral diseases such as measles and polio were significantly higher in the previous century; however, nowadays these are completely eradicated from the planet. While newer diseases continue to emerge from time to time, modern medicine is able to cure many of them.
In addition, the transportation facilities available these days are more versatile. They have reduced the travelling time to a great extent as well as improved the connectivity between various destinations. Likewise, home appliances have made cooking and cleaning easier. Apart from that, the role of recent communication channels remarkably contributed to making our life more comfortable. The internet, which enables us to send and receive a huge amount of data within seconds, can be considered as the finest example of the power of technology. Thus, obviously, our lives are easier and more comfortable today than in the past.
In short, the people who live in the present century are enjoying the benefits of better services in the health, transport and communication sectors. Therefore, I believe, we enjoy a better quality of life than our ancestors.
People living in the 21st century have a better quality of life than the previous centuries - mẫu 13
Some people think that people living in the twenty-first century enjoy a better quality of life than people living in earlier centuries. I completely agree with this viewpoint since I believe that scientific and technological developments have a big influence on how people live.
First of all, thanks to advancements in medical facilities and the growing number of highly qualified healthcare experts, healthcare is now more advanced and available to a wider range of people than it was in previous centuries. For instance, people living in Vietnam's mountainous regions no longer have to travel millions of kilometers to large cities in order to receive healthcare treatment because they can now access qualified medical professionals in neighboring hospitals that have readily available medical equipment for checkups. Even highly competent physicians from large hospitals might support the challenging situations by using online calls to consult and advise the less experienced physicians in the area.
Additionally, our ability to network and connect to each other has become richer and more convenient owing to digital technology, which is another reason why residents of the twenty-first century have a higher standard of living. In contrast to earlier eras when communication options were limited to texting and phone conversations, modern people can now connect and contact their family and friends via a variety of platforms, including online social networks and zoom calls, much more easily, quickly, and affordably, all thanks to their smartphones.
In conclusion, I truly believe that because of developments in digital technology and healthcare, the 21st century offers a greater quality of life. Our lives have been extended by these improvements, which also enhanced our everyday experiences and made living in the modern day more comfortable, easy, and connected than ever before.
People living in the 21st century have a better quality of life than the previous centuries - mẫu 14
People believe that we live a better life than the people who lived in the previous century. I completely agree with the fact that we lead a better life. I will justify my opinion with examples and scenarios in this essay.
The first and the foremost thing that comes to my mind is technology. We are surrounded by technology. Our life revolves around it. We work on laptops, tablets and computers which were not available in the last century. We use mobiles to connect to our friends and family. Earlier there was no such option. People used to travel and write letters. We can connect with anyone worldwide through social media websites. I believe that technology has made our lives easier. We use the washing machine to clean clothes. It does not require physical effort which people did previously. Cooking has become easier, storing food is now just a door away. These facilities were not available to make life easier in the previous century.
Second is the medical advancement that we have gained. The world can cope up with threats and treat patients. Now there are so many treatments for people which were not available earlier. They used to fall sick and left to expire. Every village and city now has hospitals. Right treatment at the right time saves many lives nowadays.
We have also excelled in terms of transportation. Traveling now from one country to another is just a flight away. People in the previous century did not have the facilities. Now we have trains and buses traveling all over the country.
In conclusion, I believe that the 21st century has a better standard of living. We can easily cure people, travel to our dear ones and lead an easier life.
People living in the 21st century have a better quality of life than the previous centuries - mẫu 15
With the advancement of science and technology, our life has become easier and much more comfortable. These facilities were not available to the people who lived in the previous century. Hence, I do believe that people living in the 21st century generally have a better quality of life than people who lived in the previous century. In this essay, I will discuss a few reasons justifying the statement.
If we take a look around us, we can see a world full of technology and advancement. We can see cars, bikes, TV, laptops, fridge, washing machine, flats, apartments, hospitals, flyovers and what not. All these symbolize a better standard of living. Let us consider the advancement in the field of building. There are thousands of apartments that are growing vertically. This is making more space for people with luxurious views. The roads are better constructed, and flyovers have been built to ease traffic congestion, facilitating quicker commutes home from work. These flats and apartments have facilities like Air conditioner, automated lighting system, cooking oven, fridge, swimming pool, play area etc. One does not even need to travel to avail these facilities. Previously all these were not available. People used to stay without these facilities. Not only that, but we have also had a great advancement in the field of technology. Technical giants like Apple, Microsoft, and Google have affected our lives for the last 30 years. They have everything that we need. We can stay at home and look up places in America or Australia. Technology has developed 3D, 4D and 7D movies. Previously it was played on projectors and was black and white. Now we have Virtual reality which is a miracle of technology.
I believe that technology and advancement in all other fields have made our life easier and better. So, we are definitely leading a better quality of life than the people of the previous century.
