Many people are successful in life, which can be explained not only by their hard work. In this essay, I am going to consider that luck is as important as the ability to dedicate our time and energy to work.
We must acknowledge that without a deep understanding of what we do and how we do we can hardly achieve positive outcomes. There are millions of employees who do not go beyond their duties, not moving deeper to comprehend that the process is about. Consequently, they see only a visible side of the iceberg. They are quite satisfied being paid a decent salary and having some bonuses. Such people do not look for challenges; they treasure stability and are not ready for changes. They can spend a whole life doing one and the same work, even if it is extremely boring and irritating,
On the other hand, there are absolutely different people who do not only dedicate all their time to work but comprehend all the stages, distinguish the bonds and even make efforts to improve these processes. Needless to say, it takes a lot of time and inner strength. These people are said to be "burning at work", as they cannot imagine their existence without it. The job for them is not only a source of wealth but something they are fond and proud of.
Undoubtedly luck plays an invaluable part in climbing a professional ladder. For example, I worked as a teacher of English in Ukraine. 5 years ago, it was my first attempt to take part in the programme "Excellence in Teaching" held by the American Department of Education. Despite all my efforts, I was not able to go further than the semifinal. There were two opposite feelings struggling within- the desire to give up and the enormous intention to win. The most unbearable thing was that I could not figure out where I had made a mistake. The next year I filled in the same application forms and wrote exactly the same essay. To my amazement, I became a winner and was granted a scholarship at George Mason University, Virginia. I doubt it can be explained by other factors than luck.
Overall, hard work cannot be underestimated. But only with luck can a person achieve recognisable success. We all should dedicate ourselves to our jobs and climb new summits.
When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success - mẫu 2
At the present time, people believe that only hardworking people will succeed and there's no place for luck. I totally disagree with the rubric above due to the fact that people cannot earn money without luck, and with no luck, people won't be able to get a job. This will be proven in the following essay.
Firstly, since the dawn of time, people have believed in luck. For example, people always carry some kind of talisman or choker. In Ireland, people believe that a green clover will bring them money and luck. The situation has not changed in the present day either. You can hold a questionnaire and ask strangers, "Do you believe in luck?" I'm sure that nearly 100% of people will say 'yes' because luck is an inalienable part of the life of human beings.
Secondly, without luck, people won't be able to get even a job. For instance, when people are looking for a job, they search for positions in newspapers and magazines, and they don't know what awaits them there; they only rely on luck to find a suitable job for themselves. Furthermore, even at school, sometimes kids receive their grades by luck, which means that teachers sometimes mix up assignments and grade the wrong student. It's also a clear example of luck.
On the other hand, if people rely solely on luck, they will not get anything. Although luck is important, it helps only when we work hard. For example, in difficult situations, when people cannot make a choice between two options, they often rely on their instincts. If they work hard and learn a lot, they develop the ability to make better decisions. This all comes from experience.
After analyzing both sides of this issue, I have concluded that despite the importance of hard work, people always need a small amount of luck for a successful life.
When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success - mẫu 3
Every person wants to be successful in life. They try their best, studying or working hard to achieve what they wish for. Some people believe that success is solely about hard work. They argue that luck does not play a part in this. People succeed depending on how much effort they put into achieving their goals, not on fortune. However, I disagree with this opinion because I think success involves effort, prayer, and luck.
There are many things that people do to be successful in life, especially in their careers. They spend time working as hard and as much as they can. Success becomes their goal, so they push themselves to achieve it. Successful people in this world are those who are responsible, honest, hardworking, and lucky.
Sometimes people feel very confident and focus only on their effort. They are too busy trying their best to achieve something that they forget there is another important factor besides effort: luck. I am not saying that hard work is not important, but I believe that luck influences the outcome of our efforts. For instance, some people try their best to achieve something, but in the end, they do not get what they want.
Many people forget that the greatest power in this universe is God, not themselves. Furthermore, thinking that hard work is the only path to success is unwise. There are cases where people fail to achieve their dreams despite working hard for them. They have spent much of their time and tried their best. But who knows? They might end up with unexpected results. Is this because of luck? Maybe yes, because effort alone is not always enough to achieve success. We need luck, and more importantly, we need God.
In conclusion, I believe that success is not only about how hard we try but also about our luck. Every person has their own luck and fate, but they must still make an effort. People should respect the process, not just the result. What happens in the future will depend on our efforts and the blessings of the Almighty.

"Success is always a journey but not a destination". I feel that success cannot be a place, but it is a part and journey of one's own life. The author of this topic says that people succeed in their lives only because of the hard work but not the luck. According to me, both will play vital roles in every individual person's life. In the paragraphs below, I will justify how both are important to succeed.
Firstly, I would like to say that without hard work even God will not help you out in coming over the things in life. So, one should work hard to earn anything. I say this because there are many people around the world who tasted success because of their immense hard work. It is a sheer illusion that one comes up in life without hard work. For instance, everyone knows about the president of America. He was born in a poor family in Kansas, his father somehow managed to send him to the school for education. Then he really worked hard and secured seats in Columbia University and then to his dedication, he completed his law from Harvard Law University with scholarships and stipends.
Now I would like to put emphasis on luck which is also a required one in success. One may be really hard working but if the place where he or she is residing is underdeveloped then it will be very difficult to achieve the feat. Not only that when we read the stories of great people, we can observe that they had a coordinating family through which they succeeded, they are not lucky here. One such example is the legendary cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar. He is a well-known cricketer in the world. He was such a lucky person that he not only had a very good coach and his parents' support but also got a chance to play international cricket at the age of 16, which I feel is terrific. He used to be busy with the cricket schedule and his wife used to take care of their children, so he is lucky enough to have all this.
In the end, I would like to conclude by saying that it is a combination of both hard work and luck that makes a man successful in life in all respects. Having one without another is like a car without any fuel.
When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success - mẫu 5
Many people think that to be successful, one should rely solely on hard work, and luck has no role in success. I completely disagree with this notion, as I believe success does not depend only on hard work. In my view, the importance of luck should not be ignored when striving for success.
Firstly, lucky people have more advantages than unlucky people. For example, in the IELTS exam, being lucky can be very important to achieve a high score because the exam presents a wide range of topics. If you are lucky, the topics might align well with your knowledge, making them easier for you. In the speaking test, you must handle a cue card, which is a vital part of your score. If you are unfamiliar with the topic on the cue card you select, you might not achieve a high score, even if you study hard and learn a lot of vocabulary. On the other hand, if you know a variety of vocabulary related to the topic you select, you can perform well, possibly earning the best score you’ve ever achieved. Therefore, being lucky can sometimes be as important as being hard-working.
Secondly, luck is essential for success in professional life. For instance, one of my friends, Mehmet, is a kind, smart, and hard-working person. However, he is still in the same position he started in when he began working. In contrast, our mutual friend, Ali, is also hard-working but is also incredibly lucky. Ali started in the same position at the same company as Mehmet. However, because Ali had one additional certificate, he was promoted to a director position. As a result, Ali now earns a higher salary than Mehmet. This example highlights how luck can complement hard work and lead to professional success.
In conclusion, I believe that success relies not only on hard work but also on luck. Lucky people often have an edge in achieving their goals compared to unlucky individuals.
When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success - mẫu 6
Success is the ultimate goal of everyone. All of us are doing our best to achieve success in different fields of life, such as work and study.
People try to achieve success in many ways. Some of them are hard workers who depend on their efforts to gain success. Others rely on their relations with important or authorized persons to reach their goals. In addition to these, there is a category of lucky people for whom luck plays an important role in their lives and helps them significantly.
Luck, in my opinion, has great effects on people's lives, as it can shift their paths in different directions that may change their lives completely for the better. For example, Lionel Messi, the most famous football player in the world, was the son of a very poor family in Argentina and suffered from a medical problem related to his growth and bone formation when he was a child. Luck led a scout from one of the biggest football clubs in Spain to see his skills while he was playing in the streets of his area in Argentina and present him to the club. There, he obtained the proper care, and now Lionel Messi is perhaps the most famous person in the world. Besides that, luck and coincidence can serve humanity in a positive way. No one can deny the role of luck in the story of Newton and the apple, which later led to the discovery of the laws of gravity.
I tend to see that hard work is the first step toward success, and it is a mandatory factor. However, luck is also very important. From my point of view, they complement each other.
Last but not least, it should not be left unmentioned that success is the natural result of working hard. One should not rely only on luck for a long time to achieve success because it may not work in many instances.
When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success - mẫu 7
There has been a debate whether or not luck plays a part in success. Some people argue that hard work is the only thing that helps people to succeed, whereas others think that luck also contributes to success. Personally, I agree with the latter.
Hard work is definitely crucial when it comes to success. Without any hard work, it is highly unlikely that someone would succeed. For instance, there might be a good opportunity for someone to establish a cyber-security company given the current demand on that field, but if he is unwilling to work hard on developing the firm, it might not flourish.
In my opinion, success occurs when one is willing to commit to one thing, prepare for the right opportunity to come and snatch it when it arises. Steve Jobs would be a good example of this when he developed iPhones despite the popularity of other non-touch screen phones at the time. Thus, when touchscreen phones were finally in a boom, he was well-prepared and made good use of the opportunity.
Nevertheless, I believe that luck is also needed to be accomplished. This is because one has to be in the right place at the right time. An example of this would be a person who has the ability and perseverance to develop a website similar to Google. While he might work really hard on it, if the person does not have any connection to the technology world, it is unlikely that his website would gain much attention.
In conclusion, I think being hardworking is really important to be successful. Still, luck plays a role where having the right opportunity to the right person is also required for success. I do believe, however, that it is more important to keep working hard rather than simply waiting for luck to approach us.
When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success - mẫu 8
It is believed that people will achieve their goals and have a successful career if they work hard, and luck has no effect on it. To a certain point, I would agree that some people are succeeded due to their diligent and hard-working cultures, but I do believe that luck also plays an important part in people's lives.
On the one hand, it is true people could get their highest achievement if they work hard and diligently. People who have great determination, integrity and positive thinking attitudes would have a different point of view from the ordinary workers. And with their outstanding performances, it is obvious that they will generate more productive work and extraordinary results. These successful people believe that there are not other factors that affected their success except for the hard-working culture.
On the other hand, although some people might not believe in luck, others feel that luck has affected their performance and achievements. There are people who have standard working performances and could not make significant contributions to their companies, but they are promoted by their superior. In another case, there are several salesmen who do not approach their potential customer aggressively, but their sales performances are beyond the target. And for these groups of people, they are convinced that luck has truly affected their careers.
In conclusion, some people believe that the only way to success is through hard work and luck has nothing to do with it. To a certain extent, I would agree with the statement, but some people also succeeded to the factor of luck, therefore I think each people have their own way of life and we should not compare each individual.
When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success - mẫu 9
It has been said that when people succeed, it is because of hard work and that luck has nothing to do with success. Although I believe that hard work is very important and is the surest way to success for most people, I must disagree with this statement. It cannot be denied that luck often plays an important role in success. For example, many important discoveries have been made by accident. There have been many cases of researchers and inventors making major breakthroughs while they were actually trying to solve another problem or create a different device.
Furthermore, there is something to be said for simply being in the right place at the right time-perhaps meeting someone by chance who can offer a good job or rare opportunity. And of course, there are the rare examples of gamblers and lottery winners who beat the odds and achieve sudden and unexpected success.
While the influence of luck cannot be ignored, this is not to say that one should depend on it and ignore the value of hard work. If one is willing to work hard, I believe that success will eventually be achieved, with or without the added benefit of luck. Moreover, hard work is often an essential ingredient of luck because it enables one to take advantage of a lucky encounter. If the scientist has not worked hard to develop his knowledge and skills, he may not recognize that lucky breakthrough when it comes along. Therefore, my suggestion is not to count on luck to bring you success. Instead, work hard and keep your eyes open for that lucky opportunity.
When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success - mẫu 10
The debate on whether people succeed because of more hard work than luck encompasses diverse viewpoints, revealing its advantages and drawbacks. This essay critically assesses these perspectives.
There are myriad arguments in favour of my stance. Recent research not only outlines the significance of studies as well as people, but also points out the importance of education and coping with vicissitudes. Besides, it provides a brief overview of expanding cultural understanding, followed by enhancing global perspectives. Examples of this can be seen all over the world, especially in affluent nations. Further, the implications of technological advancements on these views are significant, justifying widespread support for the idea that people succeed because of hard work than luck.
However, there are some arguments against the aforementioned view. Besides, its impact is far-reaching indeed as its influence extends to various facets of society, shaping not only individual experiences but also impacting on the academic research landscape. Therefore, it is apparent why many are against the notion that people succeed because of more hard work than luck.
In conclusion, while the viewpoint that people succeed because of more hard work than luck presents a complex array of advantages and disadvantages, my analysis leads me to firmly support the notion that its benefits substantially outweigh the drawbacks.
When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success - mẫu 11
We have all heard stories about people who have achieved success in their life, and we often wonder how they did it. Personally, I believe that success is only the result of hard work and perseverance. I feel this way for two main reasons, which I will explore in the following essay.
To begin with, success is always the result of hard work over a long period of time. Success happens gradually, and only after a series of correct decisions and small victories. A stroke of luck, in contrast, is generally perceived to be a one-time event. The experience of my uncle, a successful entrepreneur, is a compelling example of what I mean. Since 2005, he has run a very profitable technology firm which manufactures and sells a wide range of products. His business started very small when he invested his savings to develop and market a single product and hire his first employee. When that product became popular, my uncle compounded his success by introducing new products and gradually increasing the size of his company. His company later grew from a single employee to include a staff of dozens. While my uncle might have been lucky at one stage of his company’s growth, the long-term success of his firm cannot simply be the result of good fortune.
Secondly, success is usually the result of careful planning, research and education, all of which require a lot of work to achieve. For instance, some people said that my uncle was lucky when his initial product offering was successful. However, he was confident that his product would be a hit even before he started manufacturing it. This is because he spent thousands of dollars on market research and focus groups. It was this investment of time and money, not luck, which assured the early success of his business. Likewise, when his small firm merged with another firm just before that company rose to prominence some called him lucky. However, my uncle had spent weeks interviewing the research and development team at that company and predicted their success based on what they told him. Had he not been confident of their potential, he would not have completed the merger. Again, this victory was the result of diligence rather than luck, despite what some observers say about it.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that success comes as a result of hard work. This is because success takes a lot of time to achieve, and it also requires very careful planning.
When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success - mẫu 12
Success is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after achievements in contemporary society, with individuals from all walks of life aspiring to be successful in their respective fields. However, the debate persists on the role of hard work versus luck in achieving success. While hard work remains an essential ingredient for realizing one's potential, it is my belief that luck also plays a significant role in determining one's level of accomplishment.
Undeniably, individuals who have achieved great things in various domains - whether in sports, entertainment, or business - have always been recognized for their hard work and determination. The likes of Michael Jordan, Oprah Winfrey, and Elon Musk are exemplary examples of individuals who have dedicated countless hours in pursuit of their goals. These individuals had a vision, broke it down into smaller, achievable targets, and worked tirelessly to achieve them. Their success is a testament to the sheer willpower, sacrifice, and discipline that is required to achieve greatness.
It is important to note, however, that hard work alone cannot guarantee success. There are several externalities, such as opportunities, resources, and circumstances, that can either facilitate or constrain the realization of one's goals. For instance, a person's socioeconomic status, race, or gender can significantly impact their access to education, employment opportunities, and social capital. Moreover, external factors such as natural disasters, economic recessions, and pandemics can throw unexpected obstacles in one's path, rendering their hard work and determination ineffective.
To illustrate, consider the case of Kristina Vogel, a former Olympic cycling champion. In 2018, while training on an indoor track, Kristina collided with another rider and crashed into the trackside barrier, resulting in life-changing injuries that paralyzed her from the waist down. Despite her indomitable spirit and unwavering work ethic, there was little she could have done to avoid this tragedy that derailed her athletic career. In such instances, the role of luck cannot be denied.
In conclusion, while hard work is a fundamental driver of success, luck too plays an intricate role in determining one's level of accomplishment. We must recognize that the role of chance is not always negative, as favorable circumstances and fortuitous encounters can equally facilitate success. By fostering a growth mindset that values both hard work and luck, we can maximize opportunities, minimize the impact of bad luck, and create a balanced approach to achieving success.
When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success - mẫu 13
Success is a complex and multifaceted concept that can be attributed to various factors such as hard work, talent, perseverance, and luck. The quote "When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success" takes a firm stance on the role of luck in achieving success. While hard work undoubtedly plays a significant role in achieving success, it is difficult to discount the influence of luck in the equation.
First and foremost, it is important to acknowledge the undeniable impact of hard work in achieving success. Hard work is often characterized by dedication, discipline, and consistent effort towards a specific goal or objective. Those who have achieved success in their respective fields often attribute their accomplishments to the long hours, sacrifices, and determination they have put into their work. Whether it is in the realms of academics, sports, business, or the arts, hard work is a fundamental component of achieving success.
However, it would be remiss to overlook the role of luck in the equation of success. Luck can manifest in various forms, such as being in the right place at the right time, encountering a serendipitous opportunity, or receiving a fortuitous turn of events. While hard work is essential in laying the groundwork for success, luck can often provide the necessary break or advantage that propels individuals towards their goals. Consider, for example, the countless stories of individuals who have stumbled upon opportunities that have accelerated their careers or received a stroke of luck that has changed the trajectory of their lives.
Moreover, luck can also play a role in the circumstances into which individuals are born. Privilege, access to resources, and social capital can significantly influence an individual's path to success. Those who are born into favorable circumstances may have a head start in their journey towards success, while others may face systemic barriers and challenges that can impede their progress. In this context, luck becomes a significant factor that can shape an individual's likelihood of achieving success.
In conclusion, the quote "When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success" presents a one-sided view of success. While hard work is undeniably a crucial component of achieving success, it is important to recognize the role of luck in the equation. Luck can provide fortuitous breaks, opportunities, and advantages that can often be instrumental in an individual's journey towards success. Therefore, while hard work is essential, luck cannot be discounted as a factor in the attainment of success.
When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success - mẫu 14
There is a humorous saying in English – “The grass is always greener on the other side of the valley”. The saying is used ironically to point out that there is a temptation in us all to insist that others are more fortunate than we are. This is nowhere truer than on the question of luck and hard work. When faced with the “bad times”, we often find comfort in the idea that we are special in our degree of misfortune. I feel that such an attitude is negative, and that it can bring only further misfortune.
Many famously successful people have begun from small origins. Mao was the son of a (modestly prosperous) peasant; the explorer Captain Cook was so poor that, as a child, he had to work by day and study by night; many of the affluent Americans of today are the children of the poor immigrants of yesterday. Beethoven, it should be remembered, became deaf before the end of his career. There are many, many more people who have also made genuine, though Jess spectacular, successes against the odds.
Within his own terms, a person who is born into poverty in India is a great success if he managesto own a house in the later life. Poverty cannot be reduced by merely complaining and blaming others: no matter how guilty other people are, each individual must reach out to success for himself. Indeed, some economists believe that the world operates by what they call “the rule of the jungle”. They believe that in economics a person a1ways attempts to gain profit from his neighbor: that given the chance the poor man would quickly make himself rich by trading to his own advantage.
Also, it is presumptuous to judge another according to his or her apparent fortune. No man can ever truly understand the sufferings of his neighbor. A man who appears comfortably rich may have suffered elsewhere in his life - through the death of a loved one, for example. Retired businessmen have often worked long hours in their youth. Surely, it must be wiser to respect achievement than to deny that anyone has achieved good in the world.
To rely on notions of luck - to believe that life is a kind of lottery - is an attempt to escape reality.
Paradoxically, the only time a person can claim that luck is more important than work is when he reflects on his own success. Because of that modesty, the great man then becomes even greater.
When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success - mẫu 15
I disagree with the quotation that success is solely a result of hard work, and that luck has nothing to do with it. While hard work is undoubtedly important in achieving success, luck also plays a significant role in the outcomes we experience. There are many factors that contribute to success, and it is often a combination of hard work, determination, and fortunate circumstances that lead to achieving one's goals.
When I was making the lantern, I experienced firsthand how luck can influence the outcome of a project. I spent hours researching and designing the lantern, carefully selecting the materials and putting in the effort to create a beautiful and functional piece. However, despite my hard work, there were aspects of the process that were out of my control. For example, I needed a specific type of paper for the lantern that was not readily available in stores. It was only through luck that I stumbled upon a small shop that happened to have exactly what I needed.
Additionally, during the construction of the lantern, I encountered unforeseen challenges that required quick thinking and creative problem-solving. While my hard work and preparation certainly played a role in overcoming these obstacles, luck also played a part in how things ultimately turned out. For instance, there were moments when I made mistakes or faced setbacks, but lucky breaks helped me to recover and ultimately achieve success.
Furthermore, in the process of making the lanterns, I came across opportunities that were the result of being in the right place at the right time. For example, I was able to connect with a skilled craftsman who offered valuable advice and assistance, which significantly impacted the quality of the finished product. This chance encounter was a stroke of luck that contributed to the overall success of my project.
In conclusion, while hard work is an essential component of achieving success, it is not the only factor at play. Luck also plays a significant role in the outcomes we experience. The making of the lantern provided me with a clear example of how luck can influence the success of a project. It is important to recognize the role that luck plays in our lives and not discount its impact on our achievements. Success is the result of a combination of hard work, determination, and fortunate circumstances.
When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success - mẫu 16
There are many things that exist in the world that will decide our success or failure. Obviously, hard work is very important to be successful. Without hard work, we can’t accomplish our goals. There is a proverb that “no one could overcome the one who tries hard.” This tells us how important hard work is to get success. However, I don’t think just hard work decides our success. Rather, I think luck should be supporting after us to be successful. There are two reasons as follows:
First, when we have a very important test that can decide our success, luck should also be after it. For example, we sometimes guess some of the questions that we are not sure, and if there’s no luck after it, we can’t have a good score on the test. I mean we can get a good score if we study very hard and have no confusion in any of the questions. Nevertheless, if we studied very hard and have some uncertainties about the questions, then luck is what decides our test score. Therefore, we can’t say that only hard work decides our success and luck has nothing to do with success.
Another reason is that we can also meet friends at the company that we want to join. Then, they could help us to get selected in a particular company. As you all know, this can certainly happen in our life. Furthermore, this is not because of hard work but because of sheer luck. In addition, friends are also important and if we say that someone has just studied and hasn’t made any true friends who can help us in the society, it is very hard to be successful. Hence, I think hard work is not just the one that decides our very success.
Admittedly, hard work is the most important thing that decides our success, as mentioned. The above two reasons don’t mean that you don’t have to study and just wait for luck. It tells us that luck can also be the one that decides our success or failure. Anyways, we should, of course, study hard to be successful but let’s consider luck as one of the important materials that would provide success.
Now to conclude, luck is also important in our life because of the previous two reasons. Many people think that success only depends on hard work. Despite that, not only hard work but also luck are definitely significant things which determine our success.
