I. OBJECTIVES

By the end of this lesson, pupils will be able to:

1. Knowledge and skills

- say the letters, sounds and words they have learnt with correct pronunciation: top, teddy bear, tiger, turtle.

- write the letters to complete the words.

2. Competences

- Communication and collaboration: work in pairs and groups to complete the learning tasks

- Self-control & independent learning: perform trace and colour tasks, Mystery bag game

3. Attributes

- Show active participation in learning activities.

III. PROCEDURES 

1. WARM-UP & REVIEW (5 mins)

a. Objectives:

- To create a friendly and lively atmosphere in the classroom.

- To revise the previous lesson.

b. Content:

- Game: Hidden pictures

c. Expected outcomes:

- Pupils recall vocabulary in Unit 14 by playing the Hidden pictures game.

d. Organisation:

TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES	PUPILS’ ACTIVITIES	CONTENT
Game: Hidden pictures - Greet the class. Encourage pupils to respond to your greeting. - The pictures in this game will be hidden one part and pupils have to guess what they are. - Spend a few minutes revising some word by having pupils play the game “ Hidden pictures”.	- Greet teacher. - Look at the pictures and guess what they are.	4 pictures about: top, teddy bear, tiger, turtle

e. Assessment

- Teacher observes and gives feedback.

2. ACTIVITY 1: PRACTICE (10 mins)

a. Objectives:

- Pupils have an opportunity to revise some words they have learnt by tracing and colouring the pictures and then saying the words top, teddy bear, tiger, turtle.

b. Content:

- Activity 1. Trace and colour. Then say.

c. Expected outcomes:

- Pupils can trace and colour the pictures and say the words top, teddy bear, tiger, turtle with correct pronunciation.

d. Organisation

Activity 1. Trace and colour. Then say.
Step 1: Have pupils look at the pictures and explain what to do. You can model with one picture. Step 2: Ask pupils to trace and colour the pictures. Say Now trace and colour the pictures, please! Go around to offer help, if necessary. Step 3: Have pupils work in pairs to compare their work and practise saying the words. Move around and correct their pronunciation, if necessary. Step 4: Call some pupils to show their work and say the words in front of the class. With a better class, you can extend the activity. After the pupils have finished the above activity, divide the class into two teams. Call one pupil from each team to go to the board. Read out a word for these pupils to write the word down. Pupils from each team take turns to go to the board and write the words. Give a point for each correct word.	- Look at the pictures and answer some teacher’s questions. - Prepare pencils and crayons to trace and colour the pictures. - Work in pairs to compare their work and practise saying the words. - Practise pointing and saying the words(Whole class - Group work - Pair work). - Show their work and say the words in front of the class. 3. ACTIVITY 2: PRODUCTION (10 mins)

a. Objectives:

- Pupils play the famous game Mystery bag to revise the letters and words they have learnt:letter T/t and words top, teddy bear, turtle, tiger, letter N/n and words bananas, noodles, nuts.

b. Content:

- Activity 2. Let’s play.

c. Expected outcomes:

- Pupils can play the game successfully by saying the letters and words correctly.

d. Organisation

Activity 2. Let’s play.
Step 1: Have pupils look at the picture. Explain the rules of the game: Teacher gives a mystery bag having letter cards (the letters can be all the letters the pupils have learnt or the letters from Unit 13 to Unit 14). Pupils play this game in teams. One pupil from each team picks up a letter card from the teacher's mystery bag. He/ She reads the letter aloud, and then says a word which includes that letter. Step 2: Divide the class into two big teams. Call one representative from each team to the board. Ask him/ her to pick up one letter card from the bag and read aloud the letter. Then say a word that includes the letter. If he/ she is correct, his/her team gets 1 point. The team with more points is the winner. Step 3: Keep record of the stars/ points for each team. Announce the winning team. With a better class, after the pupils become experts at the game, you can increase the difficulty by using all of the letters pupils have learnt from the beginning of the academic year. It is a good chance for them to revise the letters and words learnt.	- Look at the teacher and listen to the rules of the game. - Work and play the gamein teams. - Listen to the teacher.	A picture showing a teacher and a pupil playing the game.

4. FUN CORNER AND WRAP-UP (5 mins)

* Option 1: Game: Pass the ball! (ppt)

- Divide the class into 4 teams.

- Each team has 1 sticky ball.

- Play the music, pupils in each team take turns to pass the ball. When the music ends,
4 pupils holding the ball stand up and say the word has letters t or n then make sentences using “I can see …”

* Option 2: Game: Who’s faster?

- T shows the letter t, then asks pupils to find the words that have letter and sound of t.

- Do the same with letter n.

- If pupils find the words correctly, they will get a sticker.
