Quantifiers (Từ chỉ định lượng) lớp 9 hay, có đáp án

1. Some (một số, một vài)

- Dùng trong câu khẳng định

-  Some + danh từ đếm được số nhiều

Ví dụ: Some pens are on the table.

      (Một vài cái bút trên bàn)

      There are some pens on the table.

-  Some + danh từ không đếm được

Ví dụ: There is some ink in the inkpot.

          (Có một số mực trong lọ mực.)

2. Many/ Much (nhiều)

- Dùng trong câu phủ định và câu nghi vấn.

+ much:  thường không được dùng trong câu khẳng định.

+ many:  có thể dùng được trong câu khẳng định nhưng “a lot of” thường được dùng nhiều hơn trong câu đàm thoại.

- many + danh từ số nhiều

Ví dụ: There are many books on the table.

           (Có nhiều sách trên bàn.)

          Are there many teachers in your school?

           (Trong trường của bạn có nhiều giáo viên không?)

- much + danh từ không đếm được

Ví dụ: There isn’t much fresh water on the Earth.

           (Không có nhiều nước ngọt trên Trái Đất.)

          There is much milk in the bottle.

           (Có nhiều sữa trong chai.)

          We didn't spend much money.

          (Chúng tôi không dùng nhiều tiền.)

- Lưu ý: Dùng “too much” và “so many” trong các câu khẳng định.

Ví dụ: We spent too much money.

3. A little và little

- “a little” và “little” đều dùng cho danh từ không đếm được.

- A little: một chút, không nhiều nhưng đủ dùng

- Little: gần như không có gì

Ví dụ:

a) A: Can you give me some ink?

    B: Yes, I can give you some. I’ve got a little ink in my pen.

    C: No, I’m sorry. I’ve got only little.)

    (A: Bạn cho mình xin ít mực được không?

     B: Ừm, mình có. Mình còn một ít mực trong bút.

     C: Không, mình rất tiếc. Mình chỉ còn một chút thôi.)

b) We must be quick. There is little time.

    (Chúng ta phải nhanh lên. Còn rất ít thời gian.)

c) He spoke little English, so it was difficult to communicate with him.

    (Anh ấy nói được chút tiếng Anh, vì vậy rất khó để giao tiếp với anh ấy.)

    He spoke a little English, so we was able to communicate with him.

   (Anh ấy nói được một ít tiếng Anh, vì vậy chúng ta có thể giao tiếp với anh ấy.)

4. A few và few (một chút/ một ít)

- “a few” và “few” dùng với danh từ đếm được, số nhiều.

- a few: một vài, một chút, không nhiều nhưng đủ dùng

- few:  ít, rất ít, gần như không có

Ví dụ:

- The hotel isn’t full. There are a few rooms empty.

(Khách sạn này chưa kín phòng. Vẫn còn một vài phòng trống.)

- Where can I sit now? - There are few seats left.

(Mình có thể ngồi đâu? – Còn vài chỗ thôi.)

- He isn't popular. He has few friends.

(Anh ấy không hòa đồng. Anh ấy có ít bạn.)

- She's lucky. She has few problems.

(Cô ấy thật may mắn. Cô ấy ít khi có rắc rối.)

5. Most of, all of, some of, many of

- Most/ some/ all/ many + danh từ số nhiều

Ví dụ: Some people are very unfriendly.

         (Một số người rất không thân thiện.)

- Most of, some of, all of, many of + the/ his/ your/ my/ this/ those... + danh từ số nhiều

Ví dụ: Some of the people at the party were very friendly.

          (Một số người ở bữa tiệc rất thân thiện.)

          Most of my friends live in Hanoi.

          (Hầu hết bạn của mình sống ở Hà Nội.)

- Một số định lượng từ đặc biệt dùng cho đồ ăn không đếm được để biến nó thành một cụm danh từ đếm được.
