This festival takes place in some countries in Southeast Asia. It takes place from 14th to 15th of the eighth month of the Lunar calendar. Five years ago, I attended a very big festival in Hanoi. It's called the 1000th Anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi Festival. There are a lot of activities in this festival such as fireworks display, military parade, music performances, etc. It was organized very splendidly because the organizers are the Vietnam government. Millions of people came to Hanoi to participate in this great festival. It was held for ten days from October 1st 2015 to October 10th 2015. I saw lots of fireworks, parties, parades during these days. It was interesting. I took so many pictures at this festival because there were plenty of beautiful scenes. My family and I attended the Buffalo – fighting Festival in Do Son last year. This festival is held every year on August 9th according to the Lunar calendar. The Buffalo – fighting Festival is held to remember the merits of gods, maintain the village discipline, and pray for the prosperity and happiness for the local people. People played drums, danced, and watched the buffaloes. The drum sound and the scream of people urge the buffalo to play in a fierce way. Many buffalo owners, local people and tourists came to the festival. The festival was really fascinating and amazing.

Celebrating Tradition: Tet Nguyen Dan, My Favorite Vietnamese Festival

Tet Nguyen Dan, commonly known as Tet, is my cherished Vietnamese festival. It's the Lunar New Year celebration and holds immense cultural significance. Happening across Vietnam, Tet typically occurs in late January or early February, marking the arrival of spring. Tet originated from ancient agrarian rituals and later evolved into a time for family reunions and paying respects to ancestors. During Tet, streets are adorned with vibrant decorations, and families gather to clean their homes, cook special dishes, and offer prayers. People exchange gifts, visit relatives and friends, and partake in traditional activities like dragon dances and fireworks displays. Tet embodies the spirit of renewal, hope, and gratitude, making it a truly joyous occasion. The sense of community and cultural pride that Tet brings is what makes it my favorite festival. It's a time to reflect on the past year's blessings and look forward to new beginnings with optimism and positivity.

Lanterns and Traditions: Exploring the Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival, or Tet Trung Thu, holds a special place in my heart as my favorite Vietnamese festival. Celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, typically in September or October, it's a time for family gatherings, mooncakes, and colorful lanterns. The festival originated from ancient harvest celebrations and has evolved into a time of cultural significance, symbolizing unity, and abundance. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, families come together to enjoy mooncakes, a sweet delicacy, and carry lanterns in various shapes and sizes, lighting up the night sky. Children participate in lantern parades and traditional games, fostering a sense of community and joy. The Mid-Autumn Festival's blend of tradition, delicious food, and vibrant festivities makes it a truly magical experience that I eagerly look forward to each year.
