1. WARM-UP & REVIEW (10 mins)

a. Objectives:

- To create a friendly and lively atmosphere in the classroom.

- To revise the sounds and words.

b. Content:

- Let’s play.

c. Expected outcomes:

- Pupils recall vocabulary from previous lessons by playing a game.

- Pupils can identify the words and read them with correct pronunciation.

Step 1: Point to the picture of question 1, and ask: What can you see? Can you see a ball and a car? Play the recording twice or more if needed. Guide pupils to listen and tick the correct answer under the picture. Move around and help weak pupils to complete the task.

Step 2: Follow the same procedure as the pictures of Question 2.

Step 3: Set a time limit for pupils to swap and check the answers. Correct the answers, if necessary.

Step 4: Invite some pupils to the front of the class to point to the pictures and show their answers.

Step 1: Have pupils look at pairs of letters and practise saying the letter names and letter sounds in pairs. Invite some pupils to say the letters and the sounds in front of the class.

Step 2: Play the recording. Havepupils listen to the sound and circle the correct letter. Ask pupils to repeat the words several times.

Step 3: Ask pupils to swap and check the answers. Play the recording again for them to check.Give further support to those pupils who find it difficult to do the task.

Step 4: Say the letters aloud and have pupils write down the letters on their small boards.

- Look at the pictures and practise saying the letter and the letter sounds.
