In many places, prisons are overcrowded and expensive for governments to maintain. Yet, when offenders are released - mẫu 1

Imprisonment is one of the most common forms of punishment in several parts of the world. But how effective is this system? A high percentage of prisoners relapse into crime once they are released into the community. They are imprisoned again, and this vicious cycle continues forever. In my view, sentencing criminals to time in prison fails in most cases and in this essay I will explain why.

Firstly, offenders enjoy a comfortable life in prisons. Many of them have access to luxuries such as televisions, mobile phones, free internet and sport facilities etc. In other words, instead of being a place where lawbreakers should learn a life lesson, prisons become holiday camps. If the penal system really expects prisons to act as a deterrent, then I think it should be tougher.

Secondly, I do not accept that all offenders need to be separated from society. Take pickpockets and shoplifters as examples. Keeping these petty criminals in the same cells as rapists, murderers or violent criminals actually worsens the situation. This is because after serving their time in prisons, juvenile and minor offenders often turn into habitual and professional criminals.  Sadly, governments and tax payers have to bear the cost of keeping these recidivists (= a criminal who continues to commit crimes even after they have been punished) in jails. I think punishing them through fines, community service or other non-custodial means etc. is a better option.

To conclude, I do understand that criminals who pose a threat to society cannot be allowed to roam freely. For such people, imprisonment is necessary. But, for other offences prison is not the answer. In my view, the severity of the crime committed should be taken into consideration before deciding on the punishment.

The condition of being kept in prison is the most conventional form of punishment, followed all across the globe. However, the majority of prisoners get caught in this terrible cycle. I concur that certain jurisdictions should be imposed, and the case should be solved according to the severity of the crime.

To begin with, more than half of the crimes have sanctions that benefit the criminals. They get an opportunity to slip away from prison by paying the fine and therefore, leading to repeated attempts of misdemeanors. For example, the fine for theft is less than the amount stolen, which indirectly benefits the offenders. Moreover, there are several prisoners who have significantly strong contacts outside the jail. Carelessness and negligence of the police authorities may sometimes help the criminals to get in contact with outsiders and hence results in misfortunes.

In contrast, there are certain techniques that can be embraced to reduce the crime rate and bursting offenders simultaneously. Cancellation of licenses or banning of a certain document can possibly play a major role in reducing misconduct. Also, convalescence can be adopted, which slowly and gradually changes the behavior of offenders. Furthermore, countries which follow a hierarchical rule should impose new rules and regulations that favor the citizens and also protects the individuals of the nation.

To conclude, there are certain privileges available for the criminals inside the lock-up, which should be eliminated. And there should be some positive development or retribution based on the gravity of the crime committed.

In most counties, imprisonment is the most common form of punishment that a court can impose. The majority of criminals flare up after being released from prison. I believe that many measures to condemn criminals behind bars are unsuccessful.

There are mainly two reasons why criminals end up in jail over and over again. Firstly, many prisoners do evil jobs in order to fulfill their fundamental needs. Many of the small offenders commit theft or fraud to support their needs for food and shelter out of fragility and poverty. These poor people are not able to access educational resources and health care and therefore opt for burglary. Secondly, the criminals are not aware of the after-consequences, the atmosphere inside lockup is not severe enough to make the offender understand their awful mistake. As a result, they commit the same mistake a second time.

In spite of that, it is obvious that punishment cannot drop the crime rate, hence, it is imperative to make the convict comprehend the consequences of their actions, and they should be sent to rehabilitation centers. In contrast, there are possibilities that some criminals do not change their behavior and therefore it is necessary to punish on the basis of the severity of the illegal act committed. Moreover, public safety should always be the first priority of the officials while punishing the offenders.

Imprisonment is used as a form of punishment in every country of the world. It is well known that most criminals re-offend after being released from prison. I think that the rules are not partial and need to be rationalized.

Firstly, the harsh and careless attitude of prison guards toward the prisoners promotes a discouraging mindset. As a result, their behavior has no improvement. Additionally, they don't seek to learn any life lessons that could aid them in the future, soliciting people to commit crimes once more. Secondly, because jails are ineffective at imposing punishment, offenders do not take their punishment seriously. For instance, if a prisoner receives a sentence for only a limited period of time, he will return with a better plan and repeat the mistake.

However, there are some prisoners who realize their mistakes and they want to correct them, by either obtaining education or enrolling themselves in certain community services for prisoners who desire to lead decent lives, the prison should offer these educational opportunities. As it can also create influence in the head of other prisoners who live in the same atmosphere.  Moreover, emphasizing and explaining the consequences of committing such crimes might help in rehabilitation because not all crimes are best solved by directly punishing the culprit.

In conclusion, it is evident that many prisoners relapse in jail. Yet, some of the causes of these actions can be identified, and certain measures must be taken to put some rehabilitative instead of punishing remedies into place.

I think prison does work, but the focus should be moved from punishing those who commit crimes to rehabilitating these individuals. I also do not believe prisons are too expensive for governments to maintain, seeing as the alternative of privately owned prisons has proven to be a catastrophic failure in countries like the United States. The system has many faults that sometimes push prisoners to continue acting violently both during their sentence and after their release, but it is definitely not an unfixable problem.

First things first, correctional facilities have changed in nature in the past few hundred years. Governments have been forced to re-evaluate the status of those deemed undesirable. The definition of a crime has shifted meaning multiple times, and what we are experiencing now is people questioning what the role of prison itself should be. Its objective was always to punish and remove those deemed to be criminals, but since imprisoning every one of them for life has become impossible, many have begun to call for rehabilitation. These individuals will return to their place in society, and the government must make a conscious effort to teach them their place and help them correct their mistakes.

Furthermore, prisoners should have a set of rights that almost perfectly mirrors that of normal citizens. When the objective of these facilities is no longer to punish, inmates should be treated more humanely, as psychology has proven that antagonizing these individuals does not help them understand their mistakes. Overcrowdedness wouldn't be an issue if prisons efficiently handled their convicts.

To conclude, while expensive, reforming the prison system is a must. I am certain that everyone deserves a second chance, but those who have committed crimes are not given a chance or the resources to atone for their faults.
