I. OBJECTIVES
By the end of Review 2, pupils will be able to:
1. Knowledge and skills
- repeat and understand a short story.
- identify and say the words they have learnt.
Sounds /i/ (letter i), /e/ (letter e), /g/ (letter g), and /h/ (letter h)
- read the learnt words.
Vocabulary: chips, fish, milk, chicken
bell, pen, pencil, red
garden, gate, girl, goat
hair, hand, head, horse
Structures:
I like ____. (talking about hobbies)
It’s a red ____. (introducing something)
There’s a ____. (introducing something/someone)

2. Competences
- Communication and collaboration: work in pairs and groups

- Show confidence in telling the story by using appropriate gestures and intonation to recall the words from the learning tasks.

III. PROCEDURES
1. WARM-UP & REVIEW (7 mins)
a. Objectives:
- To create a friendly atmosphere in the classroom.
- To revise the sounds and words.
b. Content:
- Game: Mystery bag
c. Expected outcomes:
- Pupils recall vocabulary from the previous lesson by playing a game.

Invite some pairs of pupils to role play the story in front of the class. Encourage them to use gestures, face expressions, ... |

He says hello to two friends and shows them his bag, too. Picture 2. Ben opens his bag and a kitten jumps out of the bag. Picture 3. Phil reminds the kitten about the goat. Picture 4. The little kitten chases the goat and the goat runs away. Ben, Phil and Sue are surprised and they laugh |

3. ACTIVITY 2: PRACTICE (8 mins)
a. Objectives:
- To help pupils identify things and animals
b. Content:
- Activity 2. Look and circle.
c. Expected outcomes:
- Pupils can identify things and animals.

Step 1: Have pupils look at the four pictures. Ask pupils to identify the things/ animals by asking them some questions: What can you see in the pictures? Can you see the bag? Ask pupils to repeat the words several times and circle the bag. Step 2: Ask pupils to look at the other pictures and circle the words in the chain. Give pupils time to work. Give further support to those pupils who find it difficult to do the task. Step 3: Invite some pupils to show their answers. Ask pupils to swap and check the answers. Ask pupils to repeat the words several times. Step 4: After the pupils have finished circling the words, ask them to look at the story again and circle the bag, the goat, the ball, and the gate in the pictures of the story. Then ask them what things they can see in the pictures and have them circle the other things that they have learnt, such as cat, head, hand, etc., ... Have pupils read all the names of the things they have circled. |
