Ngữ pháp giới từ In, At, On có đáp án (chỉ nơi chốn)

A. Giới từ in chỉ nơi chốn trong tiếng Anh

Chúng ta nói rằng ai đó/cái gì đó là:

in a line / in a row / in a queue / in a street

in a photograph / in a picture / (look at yourself) in a mirror

in the sky / in the world

in a book /in a newspaper / in a magazine / in a letter (nhưng on a page)

Ví dụ:

- When I go to the cinema, I prefer to sit in the front row.

(Khi đi xem phim, tôi thích ngồi trên hàng ghế đầu hơn.)

- I live in King street. Sarah lives in Queen street.

(Tôi sống ở phố King. Sarah sống ở phố Queen.)

- Who is the woman in that photograph? (không nói 'on that photograph')

(Người đàn bà ở trong ảnh là ai vậy?)

- Have you seen this article in the paper (= newspaper)?

(Bạn đã xem bài này trên báo chưa?)

- It was a lovely day. There wasn't cloud in the sky.

(Đó là một ngày đẹp trời. Bầu trời không một gợn mây.)

B. Giới từ on chỉ nơi chốn trong tiếng Anh

Chúng ta nói rằng ai đó/cái gì đó là:

on the left / on the right

on the ground floor / on the first floor / on the second floor / ...

on a map / on the menu (in the restaurant) / on a list

on a farm

Ví dụ:

- In Britain we drive on the left. (hay ... on the left-hand side)

(Ở nước Anh chúng tôi chạy xe ở bên trái.)

- Our flat is on the second floor of the building.

(Căn hộ của chúng tôi ở tầng hai của tòa nhà.)

- Here's a shoppong list. Don't buy anything that's not on the list.

(Đây là danh sách mua hàng. Đừng mua thứ gì không có trong danh sách.)

- Have you ever worked on a farm?

(Bạn đã làm việc ở nông trại bao giờ chưa?)

Chúng ta cùng thường nói một vị trí on a river / on a road / on the coast:

- London is on the river Thames.

(London nằm trên sông Thames.)

- Portsmouth is on the south coast of England.

(Porstmouth nằm ở bờ biển phía nam nước Anh.)

Chúng ta cũng nói một vị trí nào đó là on the way tới một vị trí khác (trên đường đi):

- We stopped at a small village on the way to London.

(Chúng tôi dừng chân tại một làng nhỏ trên đường tới London.)

C. Giới từ để chỉ vị trí tại một góc (the corner)

• in the corner of the room

  - The television is in the corner of the room.

  (Ti vi để ở góc phòng.)

• at the corner hoặc on the corner of a street:

  - There is a public telephone at / on the corner of the street.

  (Có một trạm điện thoại công cộng ở góc phố.)

D. Giới từ để chỉ vị trí ở trên cùng/dưới cùng

Khi để chỉ các vị trí ở trên cùng/dưới cùng của một cái gì đó, chúng ta sử dụng giới từ at qua các cách diễn đạt: at the top (of); at the bottom (of); at the end (of):

- Write your name at the top of the pages. (hoặc at the bottom)

(Ghi tên của bạn tại đầu trang. (hoặc ở cuối trang))

- Jane's house is at the other end of the street.

(Nhà của Jane ở tại cuối phố.)

E. Giới từ chỉ vị trí trước/sau (The front/the back)

• in the front / in the back of a car:

  - I was sitting in the back (of the car) when we crashed.

  (Lúc chúng tôi bị đụng xe tôi đang ngồi ở phía sau xe.)

• at the front / at the back of a building / cinema / group of people ...:

  - The garden is at the back of the house.

  (Khu vườn nằm ở phía sau ngôi nhà.)

  - Let's sit at the front (of the cinema).

  (Chúng ta hãy ngồi ở hàng ghế đầu. (trong rạp chiếu bóng))

  - I was standing at the back, so I couldn't see very well.

  (Tôi đứng ở phía cuối nên nhìn không rõ lắm.)

• on the front / on the back of a letter / piece of paper...:

  - Write your name on the back of this envelope.

  (Hãy viết tên bạn vào mặt sau chiếc phong bì này.)
